For ten years I ran a lifestyle guide. Restaurants ranked, cocktails explained, gift guides updated every November. It was useful. It also wasn’t mine. The Infatuation does that work with a team of twenty; I don’t.
The version of A Guy Named Patrick you’re reading now is the one I should have made all along: a curated personal canon. The places I’ve actually saved, the hotels I’ve actually returned to, the letters I want to keep writing. Less editor, more diarist.
New York is still home. Paris is the new chapter. The rest of it — Mexico City, Tuscany, Aspen, Hanoi, Big Sur, Lisbon — is the long tail of a life lived with friends, with a camera, with a slightly stubborn taste for the analog things.
